Student Initiative Support Centre

Our task is to provide support resources for HSE students who are carrying out independent projects helping to develop their participants’ leadership skills, promote HSE’s reputation, as well as contribute to the life of the city, its residents, and the environment.

The Centre supports HSE students’ extracurricular initiatives, which generally belong to one of the following three groups:

  • Socially important initiatives aiming to solve social challenges and improve the life of the community, popularize ideas of social responsibility and solidarity, and develop socially active attitudes;
  • Initiatives on University advancement that aim to develop student life and extracurricular activities; create a comfortable university environment and university community; establish clubs, associations, partnerships, and student media; organize public student events; and develop creative and arts projects;
  • Educational and developmental projects for school students and prospective university students involving students as teachers and tutors.

Guitars, Students from Nigeria, and Camping in the Woods

The 27th Open Camping Weekend organized by the HSE Extreme Sports Club was held on May 26-28. About 350 HSE students, staff members and graduates took part in this event.

HSE Has Chosen Best Student Projects

Winners of Iron Egg, the biggest student award, have received their prizes. This year, 33 student associations competed in 11 nominations in the contest finals.

Prepare your Student Portfolio for Increased Scholarship Summer Competition

The competition to receive increased scholarships for noteworthy academic, research, social, cultural, creative, or athletic achievements will open after June 5, 2017. If you plan to participate in the competition, please add the information about your achievements to your student portfolio via your LMS personal account.

Following the project public defense held on May 15-17, 2017, the winners of the Student Project Contest have been decided.

HSE Science Battles: Complex Made Simple

On April 27th,  the second ‘HSE Science Battles’ were held at the tech hub ‘Kluch’. The event brought together various participants, with Elizaveta Kuzmenko, who spoke about distributional semantics, winning the battle.

Skiers and Snowboarders Compete at HSE Snow Fest

On March 4, 2017, the winter sports HSE Snow Fest took place at the Kant alpine skiing centre. The event was organized by the Extreme Sports Club together with HSE student associations and received support from the Student Initiative Support Centre.

Separate Plastic Collection for Recycling Available at HSE

The environmental student organization Green HSE has launched a service for the separate collection of plastic waste. Special yellow containers can be found across HSE buildings. For now only plastic bottles can be collected for recycling.
